Trikke T78/T8/T12 E-kit (Electric Trikke Kit)
|
What do WE think of it? Before ever setting foot on the E-kit we wanted nothing more than to hate it. Honestly. We thought that putting an electric motor on your Trikke would defeat the purpose of the Trikke and ruin the workout aspect of the ride. We loved hearing things like "Where's the motor on that thing?" to which we proudly responded "Standing right here!" and thought that adding a motor would be CHEATING! Boy were we in for a surprise! When we first got onto the E-kit while visiting Gildo (Trikke inventor) in California we kept our poker faces on. We were determined not to like it. We were determined to keep our preconceived opinions, and we were determined to explain to Gildo why this was a bad idea. . . and then we twisted the throttle. . . and peeled out! Within the blinking of an astounded eye, all of our negative thoughts had vanished! I looked at Adam and realized that, like me, he was grinning like a kid on Christmas who had just gotten the best present ever! We giggled like little girls as we romped on the throttle and were propelled faster than we ever thought an electric motor could go! The E-Kit pulled us straight up steep hills without even trying to help the motor out! We knew right then and there that we were hooked. The extra 30 lbs actually increased the amount of exercise we got when riding without using the motor and the little boosts were a perfect training aid. Since returning home with an E-Kit of our own we have seen people learn to ride their Trikke by riding the E-Kit. Folks who could not figure out how to move a Trikke to save their lives would get onto the E-Kit and within 20 minutes were back on their regular Trikke and riding around like they had been riding for years! The added weight in the front also offers the ability to really get into a carve without worrying that your front wheel will slide out. The extra weight keeps that front wheel pinned to the ground! Our final score? A+ (5 star) 10 out of 10. We love it and don't care who knows it! |
